Yuksom Facts

Yuksom was the capital city of Sikkim at the end of the 17th century. It also served as the site of coronation for the first Chogyal (king) in 1641.

Dubdi Monastery in Yuksom is the first Buddhist monastery in Sikkim founded around 1701 under the Chogyar Namgyal.
